In winter

The alpine refuge in winter

Hühnerspiel Refuge is particularly worth visiting in winter. Given its central position, the view from the hut is a unique experience. Let your eyes freely wander between the Sarntal Alps and the Stubai Alps. Treasure the beauty of the impressive Tribulauns with its 3.100-metre-high peaks towering above all the surrounding mountains.

The carefully maintained snowy pathway is accessible from “Dachs” car park, no matter what the weather conditions are and can be easily walked both by grown-up visitors and young children.

  • Walking time: approximately 1,5 hours

Experiencing alpine skiing

Alpine skiing at Hühnerspiel Refuge is a once-in-a-life-time experience which can involve even less trained skiers. The pathway up to the hut can be enjoyed whatever the weather and the amount of snow. The old and yet well preserved and easily accessible ski slope provides a wonderful downhill experience.

  • Starting point: “Dachs” car park
  • Skiing time: approximately 1,5 hours
  • Itinerary: walk along the sledge slope from the car park for approximately 300 meters, then turn left and follow the tracks.
